Is there a application specific volume control/mixer ?

Are there any programs for application specific volume controls, similar to what vista and windows 7 have? While installing wow on wine (6.5GB download, same 30 second sound on infinite loop), I realized that was probably one of the better ideas Microsoft has ever had.

**edit: I'm using Slackware 13, 64bit with multilib support and KDE... If that helps any

Not really, no

Not really, at least not to my knowledge. You can, however, configure your ALSA to do various things to sound comming from different sources. You may even configure multiple (virtual) sound cards.

Microsoft sure had a great idea with the volume control they introduced in Vista.
