Question Is openSUSE dieing?

I tried to start translating http://opensuse-guide.org Contents to Persian for Iranian openSUSE beginners. but one of my friends told me that unfortunately openSUSE project is declining (it is dieing). he told me that the origin of this event goes back to acquisition of Novell by Attachmate Group.
these was his personal consideration.
So, i want to ask, is it true? are openSUSE developers disappointed about it's future? and finally, is openSUSE dieing?
i asked this question in openSUSE forum but they didn't welcome my question!

Seems you got several good answers there, not sure why you're asking again here, unless this is a troll/flame bait post.

openSUSE is doing fine, as far as I can tell. 12.1 just released, 12.2 going forward, and SLES is also moving forward. If you want a different answer, try asking your 'friend' where they got their information.

Remember that operating-systems (like all other such computerized tools and environments) exist to be used in, and are used in, the production of $$paying$$ $$work$$.

If, say, my hospital, or my factory, or even my law-firm, is running SUSE servers ... then, "SUSE is never going to 'die' for me!"

Therefore, your documentation is always going to be valuable to many people in the Iranian/Persian community.

In addition, you will find that many of the concepts in your guide will relate very well to other similar environments. What you're doing will be a native-language translation of useful documentation by a native speaker of that language. There will be strong demand for that ... and perhaps for other documents in the same vein. "Write on!"

dieing/declining ??
http://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime

well 11.3 is dead
11.4 will be End of life on September 15
And 12.1 will hit EOL on May 15th 2013

12.2 is going to be released in August

so if one is like me and running 11.4 ...
It is time to start to make plans to upgrade

now there was some "issues" a while back Microsoft and Novell did a "deal"

Ms promised not to sue Novel/Attachmate for patent infringement on the 273 UNKNOWN patents that MS clams that Linux IS infringing on

there was some bad blood about that ,because Novel caved in and paid MS ( they fed the TROLL )
BUT Novel also got assess to MS's silverlight ( the now dieing silverlight)
and MS's programers do work on the Active Domain code for SUES

but now Oracle is "the bad guy" , people move on .

Every commercial software product has a stated "end of life" date. Many government procurement contracts, for example, demand one. So do many large corporations that can be counted on to buy tens of thousands of copies.
