That might be due to that user having email from members disabled in his settings. LQ also has a private messaging system, which both of you apparently have disabled. I get the option to send email to cavig5, but not to cyber.

The settings are under "Messaging & Notification" in your Edit Options page.

I see no option for activating PMs.

I indeed had disabled the option "Receive Email from Other Members", because I usually prefer PM in forums. I changed this now, but I still can't send cavig5 an e-mail.

gparted has been fixed

For anyone who comes across this and actually makes it this far through the drifting discussion, at least the most recent version of gparted (0.16.2) appears to have corrected the flaw of writing one sector of ASCII text at offset 0x10000 when creating an "unformatted" partition. Of course that is of little solace to anyone who has been bitten by the old behavior.

Strange. For me, the whole 2nd half of that "Messaging & Notification" section deals with private and "visitor" (public) messaging.
