Is it possible to make a dir a symbolic link?


Is it possible to make a directory a symbolic link so when i put files it it they are really going to another directory?

Sure - just like a file. Directory's just a sort of file.

I did try first. Grip rips mp3's to /home/jeff/mp3 but i wanted to redirect it to /home/jeff/media/music so i did :

ln -s /home/jeff/media/music /home/jeff/mp3

that created a symbolic link in mp3 called music. So does that mean you can't turn an existing dir into a symbolic link?
