Iretating problem with auto login

I use USE 9.0 and have just upgrade KDE to 3.2, in the process I crated an extra user account.
When I was done I deleted the extra user account.
But now I canít get the auto login to work, I have to give my PSW every time (I assume this mode got active when I created the new account).
I need to auto login since I do not have any screen or keybord to this computer and use VNC instead. I have tried all combination I can think of with the login manager but nothing seems to work (well basically any changed seem not to affect the login process).
Any suggestion or workaround?
