what is a good irc server for linux?

hybrid ircd, dreamforge now called bahamut i think. unreal ircd, and many others. hybrid is probably the most used.

i have dl'd the package and installed it... how do i get it working? (hybrid that is...)

i know you people say to read all these man pages and such but i cant really find them... and when i do find them they tend to make little or no sense to me... anyways...

is there anyway to configure the ircd server so that i can keep it secure and keep trolls from getting into it and taking it over?
