I've been trying to get my iPod Shuffle working using the following instructions (with gtkpod)
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/280679
The iPod had songs loaded using my roommates windows machine. When I connect it, gtkpod mounts it perfectly, recognizes the files that are already on there and seems to load new songs properly.
When I unmount the iPod, the blinking light still blinks orange. This indicates that it's busy and shouldn't be disconnected from the computer.
I've left it connected for hours and it keeps blinking. I disconnected it while the light was blinking, only to get errors from the iPod when I tried to play it.
When I reconnect the iPod to the windows machine, it recognizes the newly added files and seems to fix whatever problems there were.
I'm running Fedora Core 2 on the 2.6.11 kernel (I had the same problems on 2.6.5). If any more information is needed please let me know.
Any suggestions would be highly apprectiated, because I want to stay as far away from that windows computer as possible.
Thanks,
