io error

I'm using red hat 7.3 with the ext3 filesystem, I get the following error when running a build file: 'io error scanning directory ...'. Any suggestions about how to fix this would be appreciated.

What kernel are you running?

Maybe post some hardware specs, too.

Mmmmkay...

How 'bout some drive info. 'hdparm /dev/hda' will print out the uglies for us.

A little more about the computer itself - what do you get when you try 'lspci -vb'?
Investigate and report back here. Resistance is futile.
