Lightbulb Inter-server log file transfer [Debian etch]

Hi All,

I need to be able to make available my mail.* log files, produced on SERVER(B) on SERVER(A).

This will allow me to carry out mail reporting for my clients who have access to SERVER(A) via Apache, I already provide Webalizer for their sites and would like to add mailgraph.

Any ideas how this, transfer, can be achieved would be appreciated.

Regards
Nick Adie

SERVER(A)
=========
Debian etch
Apache2
Squirrelmail
SSL
ProFTP
Webalizer

SERVER(B)
=========
Debian etch
MySQL
Postfix
Dovecot

An NFS share, mounted at some opportune location on the client-interfacing server? (Share /var/log with good permissions, put group r on mail*log for group my_clients)

If you'd rather not allow the clients to access that system at all, use rsync (& cron) to pass them across as needed.
Note that rsync only sends differences, so that'll save on bandwidth after the initial load.

Hi Jameson & Chris, Thanks for your input, will look at nfs and or rsync.

Can NFS be used for Nix<->Nix file sharing? and should it?

Tried shfs over the weekend, needs an interactive login to work.

Regards
Nick

Yes and yes. It's pretty trivial to set up, there's a plethora of how-tos on the net.
