Installing Windows XP after installing Red Hat 9

Hi

After joining the Linux scene for a few months (and been amazed at how good it is) I was shocked to find out I'll need Windows again.

I need to start making a few Windows apps again, and theres a few other things i'll need it for...
Only problem is that i'm not prepared to have to wipe all my Linux things to install Windows, especially after all the battles I fought and eventually won to get Mono, monodevelop, GTKMM everything else to work right.
I also can't store things on a disc as I have no CD re-writer on this computer.

Everything I've read says to install Windows first as its a hassle otherwise, so I thought i'd ask for a bit of help on overcoming that hassle.

I've looked around on the net and found one or two things, but nothing that I can understand. I'm a Linux newbie, i'll admit it, so it won't be that easy for me.

Thanks alot.

Paul

from my experience when u install windows on another partitiion, then u won't see a boot loader at all. Ur machine would just boot straight to windows so u'll have to reinstall grub or lilo for ur bootloader to work again

So your saying it would be fine, but it wouldn't give me the option of which OS i wanted to use, just drop me straight into Windows?

yeah just load up you linux disk after the install of windows and reinstall grub or lilo and then configure it to give you 2 options linux or windows

I have never seen or heard of a successfully installed WinXP after/behind linux.

Unless someone has some big magic that I am not aware of, WinXP must be installed first. (On the same drive)

That sucks, but "life" sucks.

I haven't got a disk, just the installation CD...

So i'd have to make a new partition (which I have no idea how to do through Linux), then run the windows installation cd and make it install on the new partition, then install grub or lilo..

yeah lilo or grub is most likely on your installation cd

i have done this with slackware cuz i installed slackware first

Okay it seems alrite.
I take it I have to create the new partition first. How would I go about doing that?
And if it wont let me go onto Linux, how am I supposed to get onto it to install Lilo or Grub
