Installing windows on linux?

How problematic would it be to install win2k on a linux/slackware machine? Some say I should remove linux first, then install win and then install linux again, but I'm not in the mood for that... ^_^

as long as you have a working boot disk (test it!!) then you shouldn't have much to worry about. that's assuming you don't need to mess with partitions. you'll just need to reinstall your boot loader once win2k is up and running.

This is my partitionscheme:

/dev/hda1 / 4768.7 112.2 4656.5 2% reiserfs
/dev/hda3 /boot 48.2 35.1 13.1 73% reiserfs
/dev/hda9 /export/archive 55285.7 32.1 55253.6 0% reiserfs
/dev/hdb1 /export/archive 78526.2 32.1 78494.2 0% reiserfs
/dev/hda5 /home 4768.6 447.4 4321.2 9% reiserfs
/dev/hda7 /opt 1847.9 439.0 1313.5 29% ext2
/dev/hda6 /usr 4768.6 2031.2 2737.4 43% reiserfs
/dev/hda8 /var 2771.8 37.2 2591.6 7% ext2

If I just nab some space from hda9 and use it to create hda10 (vfat) and then install win2k on that partition, there SHOULDN'T be problems huh?

Im running on Fedora Core 2 and I need to install WinXP for games (just as long as I don't get on the internet with it it shouldn't crash....much..) I have the install disk for WinXP and Fedora but how do I go about executing the SETUP.EXE in the WinXP install? I tried using WINE (20040716) but when I click the install button thingy it doesn't do anything, there are a couple other buttons that don't work either. Can someone help me get Windows back on so I can get a Dual-boot setup afterword.

I might be too late since your post was in july but heres how I would fix it see if you can get a program that can change the default partition to the linux bootup one. If you can't then I'd reinstall it using the partition tool that hopefully came with your linux distro

also I got windows installed by getting another win disk and it ran at bootup
