How problematic would it be to install win2k on a linux/slackware machine? Some say I should remove linux first, then install win and then install linux again, but I'm not in the mood for that... ^_^
as long as you have a working boot disk (test it!!) then you shouldn't have much to worry about. that's assuming you don't need to mess with partitions. you'll just need to reinstall your boot loader once win2k is up and running.
nonsumpisces; but have looked at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX
sections4.1 the linux OS subsection 4.1.2 switching 4.1.4 installation 4.1.6
boot loaders and booting the OS 4.1.8 partitiona and filesystem and last but not least section4.2 system adminstration and configuration including
subsection 4.2.1 configuration expanding all sections and subsections for detail information.
Im running on Fedora Core 2 and I need to install WinXP for games (just as long as I don't get on the internet with it it shouldn't crash....much..) I have the install disk for WinXP and Fedora but how do I go about executing the SETUP.EXE in the WinXP install? I tried using WINE (20040716) but when I click the install button thingy it doesn't do anything, there are a couple other buttons that don't work either. Can someone help me get Windows back on so I can get a Dual-boot setup afterword.
for installing windows just put in the windows cd and reboot your system, then the windows installer will automatically show up. im also having a problem getting my bootloader to work, i installed windows 2000 after installing fedora core 2 and now windows has taken over and i cant get linux to load again. any suggestions on how i can get a new boot loader working? i tried bootpart, it set up a selection menu but it still wont load linux.

anyone know how i can get the boot menu i setup using the boot.ini in windows 2000 to load linux?? please!
I might be too late since your post was in july but heres how I would fix it see if you can get a program that can change the default partition to the linux bootup one. If you can't then I'd reinstall it using the partition tool that hopefully came with your linux distro
also I got windows installed by getting another win disk and it ran at bootup
