Installing Updates from a cd (fedora 1)

Hi, i use dialup at home, and t3 at school...i downloaded all the updates on the mirror for my install...

The question is how do i make the updater look at my cd and copy what is needed rather then installing all updates. Is this possible if i change the mirror site in some config file i saw and point it to my cd or a folder on my computer.

If not is their any harm in just installing all of the updates...

kinda confussed.

If you have the rpms that it would be updating on a cd then you can copy them to /var/spool/up2date/ . When you run up2date it will see they are already downloaded and go ahead and install them.

There is a file somewhere in /etc/sysconfig/... That will let you change the ftp site that it downloads from. It may work if you put the cd files in your local ftp site (as in 127.0.0.1) and change the config file to look at yourself for the updates. The otherway is easier, though.
