Installing softwares
 
Please if anyone could tell me how to isntall softwares available in other cds in the linux 9.0. The add remove packages just installs the packages available with the redhat. The earlier versions had the gnorpm for gnome, but it is not available in this version please help

Just copy the RPM or tar.gz file from the cd onto your hard drive and install that way?

If you provide more details of what your trying to do, might be more helpful as what your asking really doesn't make any sense.

The thing which you are saying is absolutely alright, but i have used redhat 6.1 and 6.2 and 7.3, each of them had a RPM application to install new softwares directly from the cd. i am finding the redhat 9.0 a little tricky to understand.. for example if i download a video player from the net for linux, how do i install it.. please tell
