if it's kppp then you should just need username and password

but some require script to reply to name: instead of user:

Unhappy ISP hookup----

Sorry ,never heard of affero , Iam just a lost newbie in this linux world,time for me to go to school to "properly" learn linux.....

Try going though the ppp howto and see what's going on. The log files pretty much tell you anything you need to know to get it working.

And I have not seen a paid dialup yet that will not work with linux besides aol. I don't know anybody that uses aol.
