Installing new distro through dist-upgrade?

I wondered if it is perhaps possible to switch between Debian, Ubuntu, Kanotix and SimplyMEPIS, simply by using different entries in the sources.list and then do an apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade?
(I don't think my question is completely far-fetched as they are all Debian-based)

Possible but it may break your system, since some distros use their own repositories.
