Question Installing Mandrake 9

Hi all,
First thank you for participating. I am having a problem installing any Linux os on my Western Digital hard drive. It is a 30gb that was running wme then w2k. I have tried installing Mandrake 9, suse 7.3, and Redhat and this is the error message that I receive each time: hdb:suprious 8259A interupt: IRQ7. Anyone with any suggestions. Thank you.

Your computer probably has a firewire port that Linux can't deal with (yet). It is surprising well documented on the Web and in the Red Hat help files. Use the search button on this forum (one of the ones in the upper right hand corner) and enter this:

spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7

You will find posts with links to the relevent sites
