nikos; u didn,t state mfg of hd? no matter contact mfg of hd & download driver for device. ask mfg if it is compatible with linux or one that is. ok check the LQ HCL :http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/index.html & check motherboard, controllercards, cpu if compatible with system os.

more specific it says : no Hard Disk drivers have been found. You propably have to choose manually.Do u want to choose now?...I choose Yes and then..
No device drivers have been loaded..do u want to choose now..after choosing yes there is a huge list of device drivers and it doesn't seems to appear anything there that i know..i can skip this step and then it goes through the first steps of installation..i choose the languages and i arrive at the point of partitions..if i choose automatically partition either manual partition it says no hard drives have been found and reboots..its the distro fault or because my hard disk is SATA and its not the simple one(connected in IDE)?
penguin i dont know what mfg is...

nikoz; go to http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/index.html and identify your device via compatibilty list. once that is done the information U,ll have is what u need to enter into system for recoqition.
since SATA is just being recoqnized by industry linux maybe a little behind but developers working on it. be patient drivers will be available when developers
place them for use. that is why i suggested ask the mfg of those SATA drives. some where on the outer cover of drive is that information. go online (www) to ask mfg for info about drivers for linux.
