Installation problem with RH 7.1 - large IDE related?
I'm installing Redhat 7.1 from cd onto a new Dell P4 with 512Mb Ram and 80Gb harddrive.
I have selected the partitions such that the /usr partition is the 6th of 7. I originally partitioned the /usr (with fdisk) at 1.4Gb, but when the installer had finished formating the partition and started installing, it gave the following error:
"You don't appear to have enough disk space to install the packages you've selected. You need more space on the following filesystems - /usr. Space needed 127Mb."
Since there is clearly enough space, I thought their might be some bug and it was mistaking 1004 Mb as 004Mb so I went and reduced the size of the partition to 950Mb. But I received the same error.
The cylinders for the /usr partition are 2751-2872 of 9732. From what I understand, it should be able to recognize a couple of Tb. Anyone know what is going on?
Oh there is only one ide drive on the machine. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Matt
