Installation options
 
Hi,
I'm new to this forum, so excuse me if I'm posting this question in an incorrect forum...

I have an old laptop I'd like to install linux on (thinking about fedora, debian or suse).
The problem I'm facing is that the laptop's screen doesn't work anymore and also I cannot get video signal on the vga output.
The laptop runs currently Windows 2000 and I can browse it's partitions.

Any ideas how I could install linux on that?
Heh, once installed, remote administration will not be a problem..

Well, what do you mean by "idea"? We can get pretty freaky with this. Two things leap to mind: (1) Can you swap the hard drive out to a different machine? You could install then swap it back. Or connect whatever commnications port to another computer and manipulate the HD from there. (2) Get a small, easy distro (like a boot floppy) and practice installing it on one machine until you can do it "blind", then do it on your target.

Come to think of it, none of these were ideas. They were just random thoughts.

Yeah, sound like fun :)

It is more as an experiment, as I have this laptop I thought I'd make some use of it.

Thought:
If there was a mini live linux distro that would load without user intervention, and had SSH and ability to install other distro...
