installation
Hi! I just started to instal Red hat Linux 7.0 in my system. I have a windows98 OS and I decided to have 2 OS. When I installed Linux, it took my 6 hours and on the postscript installation it hanged and when I re-boot the system it goes to windows 98 OS. Is the installation took this long? and what seems to be the problem. Please help.
When you installed, where did you tell it to install LILO?
As jglen490 stated, when you post your system's description make sure you are very specific. e.g. CPU (make, model, speed) RAM (how much) etc.

jglen490, here are my hardware description:
1. P3 500MHz, ASUS Motherboard, 40Gb primary master HD, 3.3Gb primary slave, 4M video.
2. It comes with windows98 installed in the 40Gb primary HD. I don't want to mess up with my windows so I installed my linux in 3.3Gb primary slave. I have two partition in my 40Gb HD all are in FAT32. I installed it in the bootable CD. I just followed the instruction on the book which is installing red hat using GUI. Actually there are no error message, it just hang after package deployment (that took 6 hours and i only choose GNOME, KDE, XWindows, Printer driver, network workstation, dial-up modem) then during the Post Script installation.
To abrakadabra,
I place the lilo in the MBR just like the book said that if you have two OS place the lilo in the MBR so that you can choose your OS.
Why don't you try a boot floppy and rescue it?. You might have
to be a bit careful about lilo.conf. But I feel it will be better than
spending 6 more hrs(?).
