I think that the problem is with the order you installed the OS's. When you want to multi-boot, you need to install Windows FIRST, and then Linux. The reason for this is because Windows will overwrite the Linux boot-loader.
Install Windows, ensure all the updates etc. are installed, THEN install your Linux distro. While you are installing Linux, it will detect Windows, and let you add it to your boot-loader, so you can use both OS's.
Good Luck!

Barq,
You may have same problem I have. Linux is installed. I want Windiz installed with Linux for hardware tests.
First install failed, no error given, just forever busy inspecting HDD.
Second WindowsXP install attempt failed, complained no hard drive. Windiz should have offered a choice to delete, create & format partitions for install, not lie that 120 GB HDD was not existing.
Third attempt of Windiz install had 6 GB NTFS partition created by Linux for Windiz to install to. Partition was at start of drive, formatted, proper for Windiz to use. Windiz failed to install, erased all my Linux partitions, created a 526 MB Windiz partition and failed complaining insufficient disk space.
On a brighter note, my laptop remains Windiz free. There is only one Windiz based program I want to run, no problem.
Plenty of how to articles for installing Linux in a working Windiz system. You can save your home directory off your hard drive, then boot a live Linux CD or DVD, then delete all HDD partitions, then install Windiz to a partition of chosen size. After Windiz, install Linux with Grub boot loader. Your Linux should offer to install to whole HDD, unused part of HDD or you choose where & how Linux installs. After updating both systems, your Linux distribution may need a driver installed to access My Documents while in Linux. You want Linux to have access to My Documents, not Windiz have access to your /home directory.

If your Windiz install fails again, try using MSDOS or DRDOS to fdisk & format your HDD for install.
