install linux from remote hard drive
Hi. I'm wanting to put Slackware on a trashy PC that i have, mainly to use as a local FTP server. (My computer is a gaming/development machine. I don't want to have FTP service, and apache/php/mysql running while I'm playing a game) The thing is that the old trashy PC will not boot from a CD for some reason. I've changed and rechanged bios settings, and absolutely nothing will work. it just refuses to boot from a CD. So the question is: Can I place the ISO on a hard drive on the network, and then somehow have trashy PC install slackware from remote ISO? I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
