Install debian from cds

Just downloaded all 4 DVDs of debian and installed debian. I started with the first dvd and install debian. But it never asked to scan the other 3 dvds! How do I get it to know what's on the other 4 dvds.

You should familiarize yourself with the apt how-to

the command you are looking for is apt-cdrom add

What farslayer said is very important but if this isn't your fist install of linux and your are familiar with installation process (assuming you have a dsl/cable connection) I would recommend the netinst cd. That way you dont have to install unnecessary applications and don't have to use many blank cds.

Wonderful part about apt, you may have installed from the CD's / DVD's but it's simple to switch to an Internet repository if you want to.. (you really should if you have a broadband connection) If you only have Dial-up then I would stick with using the DVD's.. .
