initial scripts...
Is there anyway to have linux list out the scripts that it runs at boot until you get the login prompt? .. I am trying to find where some alias' are comming from, but the knowledge would be good too.

that usually depends on your dist. in slackware most of your sysinit scripts are in your /etc/rc.d directory. but in redhat the scripts are kept in a bunch of different places.
i had a hard time trying to reconfigure my nics in slackware, i knew how to do it in redhat, but didn't realize the network startup scripts were a completely different format and in a different location. i've never used mandrake though, so i have no clue where they'd be there. |
