Angry IMPOSSIBLE to set vert. refresh rate with ati drivers

I've installed ati drivers and i'm quite surprised that regardles what I wtite in XF86Config-4 vert. refresh is always 85Hz and hor. sync is 68.6k. I ran fglrxconfig and told that I want max. 75Hz/60.0Khz. That is not the first time that I saw that happening. Now I'm running mandrake 10 , had that same problem with mandrake 9.2 and redhat 9.0

Here are monitor and screen sections in XF86Config-4:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
HorizSync 31.5 - 60.0
VertRefresh 60 - 75
Option "DPMS"

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "ATI Graphics Adapter"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
#Option "backingstore"

Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1024x768"
ViewPort 0 0 # initial origin if mode is smaller than desktop
# Virtual 1280 1024

Has anybody succeeded in changing the refresh rate with ati drivers ? If so i would like to know how because I don't want to look at blury picture. Terrible feeling.

PS. On two occasions the refresh rate was 75Hz, but after restarting X it became 85 again.
