im trying to install horde with imap, but when i try to compile php-4.3.7 with the following command:

./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql --enable-track-vars --with-xml --with-gettext --enable-ftp --with-pear=/usr/share/php --with-imap=/root/imap-2004 --enable-calendar

i get the error msg under configuring...

checking for IMAP support... yes
checking for pam_start in -lpam... yes
checking for crypt in -lcrypt... yes
checking whether SSL libraries are needed for c-client... no
checking whether IMAP works... no
configure: error: build test failed. Please check the config.log for details.

when i try to see if imap i running i get this:

tcp 0 0 *:* LISTEN

xxx:~/php-4.3.7# telnet 143
Connected to
Escape character is '^]'.
* OK Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2002 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information.

So i guess imap i running, why doesnt php find that out?

thanks for helping!
