IE plugin for Firefox

Last month I dumped XP for good. However there are some websites which are especially optimized for IE. For eg. my stock broking site which is designed for IE 6.0 & above. The portal just won't accept Firefox.

Is there any plug in available which will trick the site in believing Firefox as IE. Frankly I would hate to re-install XP just to trade on the bourses.

yes, loads just look at the extensions available on the firefox site, and search for ie.

Alternative: Opera also has this built-in without having to download any extensions or plugins.

But don't forget to tell them to go with the times and get some decent programming together which does not use proprietary extensions.

No plugin will make ActiveX controls work, they just make Firefox say it is IE, they don't give it proprietary IE capabilities.

So, in case Firefox still won't work, you can install IE on Linux, too. Try the ies4linux project: http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page

This project gives you the ability even to run different versions of IE at once, something not even Windows can do that easily.

True. Stock site that uses ActiveX is just scary. I'd probably pick another way to handle stocks if it were me.. ;)

Wine has always done a very shoddy work for me, including this time. Looks like currently for trading, I've to place orders over the phone.
