Idle timeout.

Is there a program or utilities to kick a user if they have idled for some amount of time (in ssh and ftp)?

I'm using Slackware 9.1, and quite new to Linux.

Thanks. :)

I don't know of any known utilities but I do believe proftpd or most other ftp daemons will come with their own built-in timeout utilities.. same with ssh. Check the configs and docs on both.

There is also the TMOUT parameter, which possibly might be of interest. Useful link #1: http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue58/sharma.html and useful link #2: http://lists.q-linux.com/pipermail/p...ne/028353.html
