Hello: I'm using Red Had Linux 7.3 and I have found that my icons on the
desktop will not work when I connect to the internet, click on them and nothing happens., also when I open a browser the icons disapears, and will not show back up till next boot.

I use to run Red Hat 7.3, and was having troubles and so I went to Mandrake 9.0 and was working fine, but to me it was to simple (?) there wasn't much of a challenge. Enough about that so I went back to redhat and this icon problem has started. any suggestions ?

My video card is a ati rage Mach 64
HP computer 466 pentium 2
Intergrated video
Default redhat 7.3 install with ide scsi emulation enabled
using kppp dial up

Ditch RH and get a harder distro if you want to learn. I suggest Slackware/Debian
For the icons problem it looks like a bug. What WM are you using? Try deleating ~/.kde (this will erase all your KDE settings!!) if you run kde. This might fix it.
