Hi,

Thanks for helping.

In the Konsole, an error gets generated whenever
executing a command:

ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 15179, errno = 0

The pid changes every time it is generated, but
it displays after I execute something, ex.:
"kwrite /etc/directory/file"
kwrite would load with the file, etc., but the error gets
generated usually after I close out of kwrite (or whatever
application I'm using that get's called from the Konsole.)

Any Ideas?

Sorry to say several years later nothing has chenged. Certain kdialog options are giving me the same output when running as root only. Even more strange kdialog works fine with --combobox but not with --yesno --error --sorry and --radiolist. All of thse run fine as a normal user. Did find several websites that referred to the ~/.ICEauthority file, and my root user has one but it is empty, even when deleted and recreated. My regular users have data in their ~/.ICEauthority files. Running RHEL5.8 and KDE.
