I2c & lm_sensors installation question.

I am little confused by the directions included with i2c and lm_sensors, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Here what I did so far: I patched the kernel with the i2c patch 2.8.1 I downloaded from the website. I ran xconfig to make sure that the i2c sensor support is set to compile as a module, documentation stated something about the i2c menu however there is no manu just an option to have it compiled into kernel or as a module. I then compiled and installed the kernel but reading the docs for lm-sensors it seems as there is another patch which needs to be compiled into the kernel, the lm_saensors patch. Basically my question here is: do I need to make a patch for lm_sensors and compile it into the kernel? Can some one post or point me to some directions for less bright people like me.

I’m using RH9 with kernel 2.4.22 and i2c/lm-sensors 2.8.1

If you have i2c compiled in the kernel you should be able to install lm_sensors and run

Code:
sensors-detect
When you run that and it asks you a question, type in what ever is in UPPER case. It sort of hints at you.

After you get that far you may want to install Gkrellm. It displays the results in a window and is really cool looking.

You may also want to add the distro you are using to your profile. That will help us sometimes.

Later

edit: forgot the grins. <slaps forehead>
