Well, I have to pause and think about that, because both of my computers are very old. This laptop is a ThinkPad T420, and my other laptop is a ThinkPad X201. So, is it a questionable idea of me to run Arch-based distros?

I have posted this in Linux general because it's really about rolling-release, not Arch or a variant.
My current laptop is an old Asus that is roughly 10 years old. I have run Fedora, Ubuntu, and a handful of other distros on this thing. Currently running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. Runs just fine.

Some great answers above, I disagree that if it runs with one distro it will run with others. Build out a set of bootable live CD/USB devices and try them on your laptop.

I do agree with the statement that if it runs with a Distro, it will typically continue to work moving forward.
