HELLO ALL!

I have screwed up my Linux boot disk, it was using LILO and It just says while it is loading LILO from the disk, some sort of error. Do any of you know where I can get a image file to load my linux again? It is Red Har 6.2 and on /dev/hda2

Many thanks...

Can you still boot from a floppy/cdrom? Or from another partition? Do you use another OS on your PC? Do you have a copy of lilo.conf?

recovering LILO

Go take a look at this:

http://www.kevin.joubert.com/linuxnotes/recovery.htm

There is a "short" section and a "long" section. I think the "long" section might be what you need to read.

Let me know if this helps.

If you need a rescue disk, go to:

http://www.toms.net/rb/home.html

The site is for a program called Tom's Root Boot. You can, either through DOS or *nix, create a floppy disk with a fully functional *nix.

Once logged in as root, you can mount the devices manually and work from there.

Sounds like I'd make a copy of your latest kernel image right away.

Hope that helps.
