Angry I need help to istall gcc g+ (C++ kompiler)

Hi there my name is.....

I try to install gcc g+. The C++ kompiler. When i come to the part where it's time to configure, the computer display this:

Configuring for a i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld host
Created "Makefile" in/home/Micke/objdir using "mt-frag"
/home/Micke/C++kompilator/gcc-3.0.4/configure:CC:command not found
***The command 'cc -o conftest -g conftest.c' faild
***You must set the environment variabel CC to working compiler.

Pleeeeeace help me understand what to do next in order to make it work. How do I set the environment variabel to CC ? I don't even know if I have CC installed. Is it something that comes with Linux RH 7.2 or do I have to install some program ? If I have to install som program, please let me know which one and how to do it or refer to some HOWTO, Do I have to install gcc for C ? Is that's what missing ?

I do have to spank my computer. SMACK!!

By default RH 7.2 comes with gcc version 2.95, but only if you installed it during package selection. There is also an option to install gcc version 3.0.x. So i'd suggest opening package manager and installing gcc from the install CDs. You can install 3.0 instead of 2.x but the one they shipped is pretty buggy. I am not sure which CD has gcc on it but one of the three will. Probably number 1. Your system is basically saying there's no C compiler to compile what you are trying to well, compile. It can't find one, therefore it's probably not installed.
