I need a linux guru

Hi all.

Im stuck and in need of a bit of help. Im using Fedora 3 to run a game server for counter strike.

3 days ago I encountered a problem with the updater in the game.
and some other problems.

If I run the ./steam update command I get "Aborted" in terminal. I have no idea why or what this means as it has worked for 3 weeks up to now.
Even does it as SU

Also Firefox will not run anymore. it just opens in the task bar and then just closes.

And Redhat updater give an error 403 when trying to connect.

This is all I have found so far.

Ive been looking into permissions etc and even SElinux. even if I dissable firewall n SElinux I still get the error.

Please advise..Have I been hacked

Or is it something else..I cannot find any info on the "aborted" message

I have no clue what might be wrong with Call of Duty and Redhat. That "Aborted" thing could mean Forbidden by the way, the same error you get with Redhat update (403=Forbidden), but that's just my speculation.

Firefox: try running Firefox in a terminal and look any errors it gives. Don't forget to do
Code:
export DISPLAY=":0.0"
(or wherever your X is) before you do so (I often forget it :P).
