I have a little problem with KDE, bad programming, or just me?

Everytime a dialog box pops up in KDE, especially in kopete, I can't access anything else on the window. Well, with kopete, its really annoying - since stuff like "you have new mail" and "someone has opened a chat with you" act the same way too. Except when there are lot, the latest one that popped up will prevent the rest from being able to focus. Worse is when they all cover each other OR some other window has popped up. Then I will see some other dialog box, but I can't click view or ignore for example, because it isn't the latest one that popped up.

It isn't a huge problem, but its very annoying. Is it me, my settings, or the programming?
