I can not run KDE...

i have a very strange problem. I installed SuSE 9.3 and i may had change something or I configure something wrong and as a result i can not run ANY Graphical System. When my computer starts i only get to the xterm screen(a gray thing with a mouse where you can press left click to open a menu where the best choise you have is the "xterm" window). I open than xterm and i write "kde" where KDE is loaded inside xterm. If i do the same thing from the command line without that graphical thiung i get errors. Please, can somebody help me?

Run sax2 from cli, this will give you a chance to re-configure your x-server.
It won't start if you run any kind of graphical session so be sure to hit CTRL+ALT+F2 (dunno why I always hit F2 but you could hit F3 or F4 just the same)

Try the Novell forums. After my yast update, my defaults had changed.

This is from another user:-

If you configure your Monitor, Display, Graphics Card using YAST/SAX,
config files in /etc/sysconfig will be reset from kdm/kde to xdm/twm:
/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager Line 9:
DISPLAYMANAGER="xdm", should be
/etc/sysconfig/windowmanager Line 9:
DEFAULT_WM="twm", should be

After changing these entries back to kdm/kde,
reset your xserver [ctrl-alt-backspace] and you'll get the kde login

SuSE is working on this issue, but I've not set a patch yet.

you might also look at /etc/X11/xinit/
xinit.rc may be set to open tabwm instead of kde

there may also be an .xinit.rc in your $HOME directory also...
