BTW, I like your English lesson.

I "dug it up" because it was the oldest unanswered thread listed. It was so general, maybe I should have reported or ignored it.

Unless you want to give an actual answer to solve the problem, ignore it and move on. Don't revive threads in such a fashion just to get rid of them from the 0 replied searches please.

And the actual solution to playing mp3's in Redhat 9 would be that they need to download and install mpg321 which Redhat lacked.

To Run mp3 in RH9 u need to update the xmmx with rpm

You can get rpm in
http://havardk.xmms.org/dist/xmms-1.2.7-rh8-rh9-rpm/

Go n use real player.. It will also play your mp3 songs.

or you could install gstreamer 'ugly"

the plugin that allows you to play mp3's in any media player
