Hyperterminal Equivalent for Linux

Does anyone know what the WinXX Hyperterminal Equivalent on Linux is? I would like to know where to get it or what distributions have their own. Thanks....

I think minicom can do the same work than hyperterminal

Both minicom and kermit should do the trick for you.

minicom is console based so open up a terminal and type in "minicom" I think you might have to be root to run it as well
