httpd problems

I installed redhat 9 minutes ago as a server. httpd is installed. I have it running. If I type localhost into mozilla, I get the test page. I put index.html into /var/www/html and then type localhost and I get the index page. So far so good.

But, if I try www.mydomain.com (which is my domain, and I know it works) I get a blank page. I also had a friend try it from his house, www.mydomain.com from the outside. Just a blank page. I type www.mydomain.com/index.html, just a blank page. I know it's finding index.html because if I type www.mydomain.com/index1.html it says page not found.

Anyone know why index.html would be blank from the outside, and even on the server computer when I type www.mydomain.com? The folder is set on 755. The owner is my user name. Anyone off help?

No, it's nothing like that. I have another server in the house which works fine. There is no firewall on the compt. We have a router. It's got to be something like a config file somewhere. Of this I am sure.

See, I'm redoing the server. The other one works, I can do the things I said I above could not. But on this hard drive, I cannot. That's all it is. A different hard drive.

Is the http port (80) being forwarded to the correct computer with the router?
