html-page timestamp?

I'm looking for some info on NQC and found a website that announces it'll post some updates I might be interested in next week. But when is next week? Maybe the page was created 3 years ago and the project abandoned. How can I find out when the page was last modified (I use firefox, but I'm happy to use any other tool if necessary)

I'm not sure there's a way to do this, short of getting a directory listing of the webserver that the page is hosted on, and if it utilizes any sort of dynamic paging, then there's really no way to tell how old a given post or whatnot is unless it's explicitly given.

Should be a way though, as wget can check whether the version of a page/file you have downloaded is older than the one available when you use it to mirror a site locally. I guess it uses the servers' dirctory listing, but I'd like to know how to get at that info.

After looking through the wget documentation, it looks like you can try to wget the page with the -N option. That'll turn timestamping on, and shoudl give you what you're looking for if the Last-modified header is set on the page. I'll let you know if I find anything else out.
