.htaccess error

hi group !

i am trying to get .htaccess working on virtual hosts.
does anybody no what this error is ?

[Fri Nov 8 15:53:53 2002] [error] [client 192.168.0.42] shaun: not a valid FDN: /members/index.html

Seems that your using Suse, am I correct ?? Cause anything I pulled on this error seemed to point to specifically Suse. So these should be the steps to fix this:

1) in /etc/rc.config/apache.rc.config, set the variable
HTTPD_SEC_MOD_AUTH_NDS=no instead of yes
2) run : SuSEconfig --module apache
3) restart apache with : rcapache restart

Let us know if your not using Suse or if that works.

Hi, thank-you for replying..

Yes I’m using SuSe 7.2 pro, and it has been a bitch to set-up

I have tried what you suggested, and it’s still flagging up the same error ??

Not 2 sure what to do now!

After getting DNS and IP based v-hosting all working, it’s a bit annoying being stuck on something, which should be easy!!!

Do you have any more suggestions ??

How did you track down my error ?

Sorry, just 1 more thing.
What was the command in point 2?

2) run : SuSEconfig --module apache

I just made the change and rebooted, coz I couldn’t figure that out

My humble apologies to you !
It did work !

I just had to make a couple of changes in httpd.conf in my virtual host container

Thank once again !

I would still like to no how you tracked down my error? As I’m sure this would help me with further problems.
