Angry hp deskjet problemo

I refuse to believe I'm the only unfortunate schmuck with this problem. I'm trying to mount my hp dj952c, but printtool (printconf) doesn't list the new driver which I assume is supposed to be there after rpm'ing the new drivers from SourceForge (ghostscript-hpijs-5.50-5.rh7.i386.rpm and hpijs-0.97-1.rh7.i386.rpm). Assuming this will even fix the problem, which is that whenever I try to print, I get "invalidfont in findfont" and some other stuff stairstepping across the top of one sheet, then about 6 or 7 blank sheets after that.

Do I need to delete a print driver I know I'll never use and rename the one I want (DJ9xx) with the deleted's name?

Like I said before, you'd think a bunch of engineers would write a unix driver for their damn printer. Thanks for listening to me rant.

You're right, and it's definitely not my strong suit...
