Glad to see this actually. I've still got a few friends that can't seem to register the phrase "Please email me at <email>, I only use <hotmail> for online forms and messenger" so I've still got to check hotmail periodically to keep in touch with some of them.
I would move away from Hotmail (actually anything microsoft) but it is the fact that, i then can't use an IM to talk to people as they wont switch to other IM clients that are not M$ based!

Yeah and 7 years ago you could get logged in with in 2 seconds, then micro$oft switched from UNIX servers to Win2000 servers. It all goes slowly down hill from there!
When trying to access the new Windows Live mail on linux using firefox 1.5.0.4 i get the message i need firefox 1.5 to use Live mail!
WTF? can't you see i am using 1.5?!?
Line mail is still a beta product, so it might not do everything correctly first time. If you're using the correct browser and it's failing to recognise it, you should send feedback to say that it's not working properly.
Closed protocol that is using a fully-centralized architecture... Your discussions go through Microsoft's servers so they can intercept, listen and censor what they want.

If they're american it's a bit of a mute point really, since all other forms of communication are monitored (Bush blocked investigation into NSA wiretaps anyone?), cause of them damn terrorists hiding everywhere.
MSN does like changing it's protocol though, which really annoys me, so chances are using a 3rd party app that handles multiple protocols, will at various points become broken.

I still think the Live Mail server is programmed to look for Wimbloze PCs, it may be last minute before they allow *nix users to access it!
Who were you quoting? There's no username associated with your quote, and I can't find the line you quoted anywhere in any of the posts in this thread!

A bit more sarcasm:
That's true, but isn't London the capital where there are the more cameras per inhabitants?
(which has recently been proven to be useless compared to the money it costed)
So, what's the best? Online spying or real spying? US or England?
