Howto TELEVISION CHANELS

Hi!

What are the approaches to run TV on linux?
Are the LCD for pc the right choice or do I need something else?
What's the best choice?

Thanks

Welcome to LQ.

Could you clarify what it is that you're actually asking? What is the best TV card for Linux? The best TV viewing software? The best graphics card to use with an LCD monitor? The best graphics card for TV out? A little more information and clarity would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Accurate

Yes all that you noticed!
The main question is:
What do i need to install on my computer to watch TV?
I'm a newbie i repeat...

And another question:
Is it a good idea to display video movies on my LCD?
Or the good choice is cathodic monitors...
Cause the quality is bad when i'm watching video clip or games interludes.

I recommend you to get a Hauppauge tv card, or anything based on the BT878 chip, I think it's the best supported by linux. And for using your card to watch TV use "Xawtv".
