How to view Boot log

hi

I'm running Debian Woody. Can someone please tell me how to view all the stuff that is output when the system boots? I tried dmesg but it doesn't show everything.

Is there a common way for all distros?

thanks

hi,

go into the /var/log directory and you should see a boot log text file. you might need to be root to view it.
