how to upgrade linux kernel


hi, everyone, I encounter some problems when I upgrade the kernel 2.4.20 to the kernel 2.6.4¡£In the last step, I put the command "make install", a message indicates the error "No module BusLogic found for kernel 2.6.4",
how can I do? can you help me?

what is the meaning of "up2date"?

did you compile the modules for the new kernel (make modules)?

FYI, "up2date" only works on Redhat/Fedora systems.
