How to type ¿ and ¡ in my keyboard?
Since the DOS era and on any windows I've used (3.1, 3.11, 95, 98 and XP) with various keyboards I have allways been able to type áéíóúü¿ and ¡ (it's not an i).
ALT-<ascii code> allways works.
I have a US-international keyboard. My Linux distro is installed in the english locale (it's RedHat 9) and I use Gnome 2.4.
I want to type 'a (the apostrophe and a vowel) to get á (an all the other vowels). In fact when I press the ' key the symbol does not appear on the screen until I press a vowel or space.
I also want to be able to type ¿ and ¡ in any way. On windows I can type ALT-? to get ¿ and ALT-! to get ¡.
Any ideas on how to get this working on linux?
Gnome has a special characters utility as a gnome-panel applet, but it's not suited to regular typing.
Can you type at least ALT-<ASCII code> in any way?
Thanks.
