how to step through paging in linux kernel?

hi there,

i'm studying the linux kernel, and learning about memory management using paging in intel 8086 architecture.

i would like to know if there is a way to step through the paging part of the code using GDB, because just reading books about kernel isn't fun. i want to find a more pratical way of learning the linux kernel

anybody out there has any ideas how to go about it???
