how to shutdown iptables from starting ever again?!@

Hi... I need iptables shutdown and shutdown for good on my system.

I use the 'serverice iptables stop' and it restarts or something...
its always active, same on reboot aswell.

When I manuelly rmmod the modules from the kernel its ok, but they keep reloading.

Anyone have a way to shutdown iptables?

Thanks,

It depends... what distro are you using??

If your using Red Hat 9.. just click the main menu (red hat) then go to system settings then server then services.... the services that has checks is automatically activated when you boot your Linux, just uncheck iptables and save the changes... this will shutdown iptables for good... if you want to automatically activate iptables when booting, just check iptables again...

good luck...
